Description
This component of traditional Chinese medicine involves the coordination of different breathing patterns with various physical postures, exercises, and meditation. Qigong is usually taught for health maintenance purposes or prevention; however it can be and is often taught for therapeutic intervention.
Statistical studies show the following:
Millions of people in China and around the world regularly practice qigong as a health maintenance exercise. In fact qigong is considered standard medical practice in Chinese Hospitals. However, skeptical westerners still await more conclusive results of tests proving its ability to cause biological and chemical changes in the body.

Most Eastern and Western health practitioners agree that that qigong can improve and maintain health by encouraging correct breathing, movement, increasing range of motion, and improving joint flexibility and strength.

General Tips
Seek the advice of your health provider before embarking on any form of exercise.
Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing
Do not eat anything for 30 minutes before or after the practice.
Find a quiet, comfortable place to practice where you will not be disturbed.
Breathe correctly. And move slowly while staying relaxed. Do not force any movement.
Always listen to your body and dont overexert yourself
Use visualizations and focus on enjoying the experience
