For Arthritis Editor: Yael Rosenberg, RN, B.S.H
The medical profession has not yet found a cure for Arthritis. Yes, there are pain-relief medicines, but their effect is short-term and their side effects multiple and not completely known. Bubbe had her ideas of how to relieve the pain caused by her Arthritis. And thats how she went about it: Hot Sauce - Saturate a gauze or cotton ball with hot sauce and apply to painful joints. Hey, hot sauce has much more to it than just spicing up our meals. Asparagus and Potatoes - Asparagus juice squeezed out after steaming or, if preferred, potatoes juice help relieve arthritic pain. Celery Seeds - Celery seeds reduce arthritis pain, as they have be shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. Fish - Eating a daily serving of fresh fish or taking fish oil capsules helps relieve arthritic pain. If your grandmother, aunt, or neighbor revealed an old-fashioned remedy to you, and you would like to share it with us all, please send it to info@zeigezunt.com
